He may have equalled the Serie A record of 35 goals in a single season, but Gonzalo Higuain was among a list of huge names to not receive a single vote in the Ballon d'Or on Monday evening.

Cristiano Ronaldo inevitably took home the gold as Lionel Messi came 2nd, and Atletico forward Antoine Griezmann rounded off the top three.

As well as Higuain, Ronaldo's teammate Sergio Ramos never received a vote either, despite winning the Champions League and scoring several last minute winners.

Here's the 11 nominees who never received a single vote: Agüero, De Bruyne, Dybala, Godin, Higuain, Iniesta, Koke, Lloris, Müller, Neuer, Sergio Ramos.
