On Thursday we saw Italian powerhouse Juventus take on America's best in an MLS All-Stars contraption of a side at the Mercedez-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.
Juventus played a heavily weakened side with the likes of Higuaín, Dybala, and Ronaldo nowhere to be seen. They did, however, feature Sami Khedira, Miralem Pjanić, and Andrea Barzagli and would need a penalty shootout, which they won 5-3 following a 1-1 draw, to decide the match.
If All-Star sides were not a bizarre enough contribution to the game from America already, then you're about to start scratching your head.
Former Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Guzan was mic'd up for the MLS team so that he could freely communicate with the pundits in the studio, all this during live passages of play.

Although this game was largely an exhibition match and so the end result is not too detrimental, the MLS attempts to allure more and more fans by offering something different.
This is not the first time that players have been mic'd up in American sport. The NFL regularly mics up its athletes for its "Mic'd Up" series, taking fans inside the game while also providing funny moments.
So, don't be too surprised if we see this feature trialled in the MLS soon.
Opened in 2017, the Mercedez-Benz Stadium is one of the most impressive stadia in world sport. The $1.6b project is the home to NFL's Atlanta Falcons and MLS's Atlanta United FC and seats up to 83,000 people.
