Tottenham Hotspur have progressed to the semi-finals of the Champions League after knocking Manchester City out in the quarter-finals.

Spurs entered the second-leg clash with a 1-0 lead on aggregate thanks to a Son Heung-min winner in the first leg, but it's safe to say that the match at the Etihad Stadium lived up to most fans' wildest expectations.

Raheem Sterling, who has been in scintillating form this season, opened the scoring for Pep Guardiola's men. However, Son would pull back an equaliser before the Spurs ace completed his brace in the opening ten minutes.

Bernardo Silva levelled the scores for the reigning Premier League champions before Sterling fired them into the lead.

With City taking a 3-2 lead into the second half, Sergio Agüero stepped up and fired his side's fourth in and put them 4-3 ahead on aggregate.

However, Fernando Llorente added his name to the scoresheet to put Spurs level with City on aggregate at 4-4.

City thought they had clinched the victory late on, but VAR ruled out the important goal needed for the reigning Premier League champions.

Spurs will now take on Ajax, who knocked out Juventus on Tuesday night, on 30th April for the first leg of their Champions League semi-final clash.

Will Spurs make it to the final?
