Roberto Mancini has been linked with a return to the Premier League, in the form of Crystal Palace.

Alan Pardew is under immense pressure at Selhurst Park following six straight defeats and is in serious danger of being sacked if their wretched run of form continues. Palace are currently one place above the relegation zone on goal difference.

The likes of Wales boss Chris Coleman, Sam Allardyce and Vitor Pereira have all been touted as possible options should Pardew get the sack.

But Mancini has also been linked, with The Mirror reporting that the former Manchester City boss has thrown his name into the hat should there been a managerial casualty at Palace anytime soon.

The fiery Italian won the Premier League and FA Cup in his time at Manchester City, breaking 35 and 44 year droughts for each respective trophy - earning him legendary status in the process.

He was sacked the season after winning the league when City were beaten by Wigan in the FA Cup final and it was widely speculated that Mancini lost the dressing room at the club and created a toxic atmosphere around the club.

The former Italian international has had two managerial spells since being axed by City, his Galatasaray side won the Turkish Cup in 2013/14.

He then returned to Inter for a spell just under two years, before leaving the club in a mutual agreement before the league campaign had got underway.
