Patrice Evra Proves His Class With Instagram Post Dedicated To Luis Suarez

It was one of the feistiest battles since Keane vs Vieira. Manchester United vs Liverpool was always destined for controversy a few years back but it looks like the French defender has buried the hatchet.

After Luis Suarez was awarded the Golden Boot award for the second time in his career, Patrice Evra was quick to congratulate the Barcelona forward on Instagram.

Let's be honest, who would have thought it. Evra reportedly received racist abuse from the forward during a game and Suarez apparently refused to shake his hand.

But the former Manchester United defender used this award as an opportunity to put the past behind him.

Evra captioned the post: "In my Instagram there 'only love and hate never !!! Luis, you're a great player is the best number 9 Congratulations Luis @ luissuarez9 I love this game !!! hahahaah"

Suarez claimed the prize after scoring 40 league goals last season as Barcelona went onto win La Liga in a highly successful season.

The Uruguayan has scored 93 goals in 108 appearances for the club, and has won two La Liga titles, two Copa del Reys and a Champions League as well as several other trophies.
