Peter Crouch Missed The Champions League Final To Watch His 'Guilty Pleasure'

Brilliant.

Peter Crouch's wife Abbey Clancy has revealed that the former England international missed last season's Champions League final because he was busy watching 'his guilty pleasure'.

Unfortunately for Crouchy, the final of TV show 'Britain's Next Top Model' clashed with Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid back in May, and he chose to avoid the latter to watch the popular reality show.

"He missed the Champions League final" Abbey told Nick Grimshaw on BBC Radio 1. "He loves it".

Crouchy, mate. Surely one of the biggest games in the sporting calendar trumps a show about women battling for a modelling contract?

Well, here's what happened when Clancy revealed all in the Radio 1 interview:

"I know he missed the Champions League final or whatever it was last year to watch the final of Top Model.

"I was like Pete, you've got to watch the final, you've watched the whole series."

Soon after the footage emerged online, Crouch replied to his wife on Twitter and he was clearly a little embarrassed.

Too much information...

You've had a nightmare, Peter, but for years now, you've entertained the masses with goal celebrations, funny tweets and post match interviews, so we'll let you off.

But by a matter of pure coincidence, we've stumbled across arguably his greatest video ever when he collaborated with BT Sport to create a genius 'reading mean tweets' video.

Crouch responds to a flurry of tweets, including "when did Peter get so fit...", "Mertesacker and Crouch are no different - they both have wooden legs" and my personal favourite "It was a bit funny seeing Crouch hugging Michael Owen at the end of the match. It was like Treebeard and a hobbit."

When it comes to Twitter shenanigans, Peter Crouch is up there with the very best.

Here's a few throwbacks to when he won social media:

What a hero.
