The Ballon d'Or is back on it's own two feet after six years being hijacked by FIFA. This year's 30 man squad for France Football's prestigious award is now currently in the process of being announced, with the first five nominees revealed, this morning.
The French paper France Football handed out the Ballon d'Or award since 1956 for their player of the year whilst FIFA had their own Player of the Year award.
Since 2010 the pair combined for the Ballon d'Or that between them Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi won every year. This year the two competitions are once again going their separate ways.
