Last night in Ligue 1, Metz got battered at home to Bordeaux losing 3-0 though produced a historic moment not just in France but across the major leagues.
Metz proceeded to make a landmark substitution. As a result of drafting on Vincent Thill, he became the first player born in 2000 to play in one of Europe's top five leagues.
The 16-year-old came on in the 82nd minute entering himself into the footballing record books. Bravo. Quite a historic moment as there has never been a player born after 2000 grace the five major European Leagues.
What's more, Thill - born on 4th February 2000 - is also the youngest player to represent Luxembourg making his debut back in March 25th 2016.
Advert
Not to mention becoming the nation's youngest ever goalscorer and the first player born in the new millennium to score an international goal.
Unbelievable.
