There's A Major Downside To Playing With Martin Odegaard On FIFA 17

His stats are very much a mixed bag.

For a while, the hype surrounding Norwegian youngster Martin Odegaard was something else.

He was linked with, and was on trial with pretty much every top European club under the sun and signed for the Real Madrid in what was basically a PR stunt.

Since joining Real Madrid in 2015, Odegaard has featured just twice for Real Madrid's first-team and has mainly been stuck playing with the club's Castilla outfit.

It's clear from just his one starting appearance, which came in a Copa Del Rey game against CD Leonesa that he has natural talent but as with a lot of young players who seemingly have the world at their feet, sometimes it just doesn't work out.

However, the 18-year old got a long overdue loan move away when he was sent to Eredivisie side Heerenveen in January and he has made nine appearances in the Netherlands.

It's at least a small step for a player who was the youngest player to ever player in the Norwegian top flight, the youngster goalscorer in the same league and also the youngest player to ever pull on the shirt of Norway national team at 15 years and 253 days.

Anyway, EA Sports seem to think that Odegaard does have something special about him as he has a potential rating of 83 and his 70 rated on the game, with a few impressive stats.

According to Fut Wiz, he has 83 dribbling, 78 acceleration and 79 agility. He also has four star skills and four star weak foot.

However when you take a closer look at Odegaard's abilities you'll see that he might do not be cut out to do the business for you on Ultimate Team or career mode.

That's because he has an appalling 35 physical and that's down to the fact that many of his physical areas are incredibly weak. His strength rating is a mere 34, his aggression is 32 and his stamina is at a strikingly low 35 - meaning that he is bound to get tired when playing, much to the frustration of FIFA players.

It's worth noting that the above stats were in place when the game was released and Odegaard's stamina has since been increased to 65.

But if you began a career mode before October 6, which was then an update came about, the stats will not change. This is also the case for Ultimate Team, where his physical stats remain very low.

There's nothing worse than having one of your players become absolutely knackered and pull up and Odegaard's stats mean that there's a good chance that will happen to him on a regular basis.

It's no surprise he's not exactly a man in demand.

One youngster should be all over on FIFA 17 though is Monaco's Kylian Mbappe.

To begin with, Mbappe is 71 rated on the game and has fairly impressive stats such as 81 pace.

But his potential is absolutely next level.

If all goes well, by the time he turns 25 on career mode, he should reach an incredible 87 rating, where his stats are just unbelievable.

97 acceleration, 96 ball control, 91 dribbling, 88 crossing, 84 finishing, 89 long shots - much like he is in real life, he's basically the full package as far as attacking players go.

His estimated potential is 92, which will make him an absolute machine for any avid Career Mode players.

If you are looking for the next big thing to bring to your team on career mode, Kylian Mbappe is your man.

And with the way he is going, you can surely expect his rating to improve dramatically when FIFA 18 is released. Mbappe has been sensational this season and is well deserving of the hype he is generating for himself at the moment.
