Former Real Madrid and Tottenham midfielder Rafael van der Vaart may have made 109 appearances for the Netherlands during his impressive career, but his next move could be his most impressive yet.
The 33-year old has been strongly linked with a shock move to Championship side Reading this week, after current side Real Betis told van der Vaart that he had no future at Estadio Benito Villamarín.
Reading's new manager Jaap Stam has strong links to Rafael van der Vaart, as both players played for the Dutch national team. The pair were part of the side that were knocked out by Portugal in the Euro 2004 semi-final.

According to GetReading, a move for Van der Vaart is serious but high wage demands may be a factor in the deal.
Van der Vaart was a fan-favourite at White Hart Lane during his two year spell in England, making 63 appearances for Tottenham and scoring 23 goals.
He also made 54 appearances for Real Madrid, scoring eleven.
