It looks like Memphis Depay has trolled a fair few Liverpool fans this afternoon after he walked on a red private jet wearing all red.
Liverpool reportedly sent scouts to watch the 25-year-old play for Lyon against Marseille last weekend, according to French outlet Mercato 365, amid increasing speculation surrounding his future with the Ligue 1 side.

French outlet L'Equipe also suggested that Depay has been identified as a potential replacement for Sadio Mane, should he leave in the summer.
And on top of that, Lyon are willing to listen to offers for the former Manchester United winger.
So when Depay posted a video with the caption "Merci Lyon", plenty of fans were convinced that he was on his way to the North West.

One Liverpool fan even went to the trouble of tracking the Bombardier CL Challenger registered G-RANE aircraft in search of answers.
But after following his movements, he was to be disappointed after the plane eventually landed in Rotterdam.
Here's the thread he posted on Twitter.

You've got to admire his hard work, to be fair. He even messaged Depay on Instagram:
So there we have it. Memphis didn't land in Liverpool, but in Rotterdam.
