Joe Hart's search for a new club may be over, with reports suggesting today that a Premier League club have made an enquiry about the Manchester City goalkeeper.

Hart spent last season in Serie A on a loan spell with Torino after Pep Guardiola decided he wanted to bring in Barcelona's Chilean stopper Claudio Bravo as his first choice goalkeeper.

With Bravo enduring an error strewn first season at the Etihad stadium, a few City fans believed Hart would be given a second chance to prove himself to Guardiola upon his return from Turin, yet the world record signing of Ederson from Benfica soon put an end to those chances.

Despite being England's number one and an established Premier League player with two league titles to his name, clubs have not exactly been queuing up to sign Hart, with the 30-year-old's wages proving to be a sticking point for many teams who might have otherwise been interested in signing him.

West Ham were briefly linked with a move for the former Shrewsbury Town youngster, as were Liverpool, although City were unwilling to sell Hart to a top four rival.

Enter Newcastle United. the Daily Mail are reporting that the newly promoted Magpies have made an enquiry about Hart's availability.

Manager Rafa Benitez believes Hart's Premier League experience could be vital to Newcastle maintaining their top flight status next season, with the 30-year-old having made over 300 appearances in the Premier League, keeping 119 clean sheets in the process.

Newcastle had also been monitoring Willy Caballero's situation at Manchester City before he joined Chelsea earlier this week and Napoli stopper Pepe Reina had also been on Benitez's radar, with the pair knowing each other from their time together at Liverpool.

Benitez will be hoping a deal for Hart can be concluded, with reports suggesting that the Spanish manager has become frustrated with the club's lack of progress in the transfer market so far, this summer.
