Last summer, Juventus caused outrage in the Italian capital when they raided Roma for the Giallorossi's mercurial Bosnian midfielder, Miralem Pjanic. And 12 months later, the Serie A champions are set to become even more unpopular in the Eternal City.

Reports emanating from Italy are claiming that the Bianconeri have agreed a deal for Roma's Dutch midfielder Kevin Strootman, once a long term target of Manchester United.

Strootman, 27, arrived at the Stadio Olimpico in a €17 million deal in 2013, but missed the bulk of his first couple of years with the Serie A giants following two anterior cruciate ligament injuries that threatened to derail his career.

Despite his injury problems, Strootman returned to the Roma first team, last season, making 45 appearances during the 2016/17 campaign.

Now, sources have confirmed to Calcio Mercato that the Netherlands international has agreed terms on a deal with Juventus which will see Juve's Colombian winger Juan Cuadrado move in the opposite direction.

Juventus will also pay £27 million for Strootman, with Cuadrado effectively replacing Mohamed Salah, who moved to Liverpool, earlier this summer.

The Giallorossi's original target to replace Salah had been Leicester City's Algerian winger, Riyad Mahrez, but with a deal for the 2016 PFA Player Of The Year stalling, Juventus' part exchange offer for Strootman is said to have turned the heads of Roma management.

Strootman's imminent arrival in Turin will see the 27-year-old join Blaise Matuidi in Max Allegri's new look Bianconeri midfield, with the French international arriving from Paris Saint-Germain in an £18 million deal, last week.

Strootman has made 89 appearances for Roma during his four years with the club, scoring 12 goals.
