It's becoming harder and harder to write positive headlines about Euro 2016, between the violence caused by Russian hooligans, England fans taunting refugee children and two Northern Ireland fans tragically passing away. Now, a small section of Ukraine's fanbase have caused outrage after displaying their vile tattoos during the match with Northern Ireland, yesterday.

Ukraine lost their second straight match at the tournament 2-0, but it wasn't the action on the pitch that was grabbing the attention of viewers watching at home. Instead, several shirtless Ukrainians were caught on camera, proudly bearing what appeared to be swastika tattoos on their torsos.

It was later cleared up that the symbols were from the flag of the Pērkonkrusts, which was a Latvian ultra-nationalist, anti-German and antisemitic political party, originally disbanded in 1944 but then refounded in the 1990's as an equally radical nationalist movement, which, worryingly, seems to have been embraced by some sections of the Ukrainian support.
