Imagine going a day acting like Joey Barton at his 'worst', it would be bloody tiring you'd imagine. The Burnley midfielder decided to give Lincoln City a look at what it's like when you face peak Barton.
For big parts of his career, mainly at Manchester City and QPR, Barton was rarely out of the papers for the bad things he did both on and off the pitch.
Whether it was putting his cigarette out in a young Manchester City player's eye, a training ground bust up or the incident that saw Barton get red and City win the Premier League in dramatic circumstances on the last day of the season it was all bad headlines.
Then for a whole year the one cap former England man had good headlines as he helped Burnley win promotion to the Premier League before moving to Rangers.

His time in Scotland didn't go well and he was back with the Clarets in January. Today he was back writing bad headlines against Lincoln City with his antics against the Imps:
First he attempted a stamp on the non league team's big striker Matt Rhead, although he essentially missed trying to stand on the forward's toe, before feigning an 'elbow' from Rhead.
The 34 year old got away with just a warning but was back speaking to the ref just minutes later. Another run in with a Lincoln player saw the opposition player lying on the deck.

Barton hadn't actually done anything to get him there but still picked up a yellow whilst guilty party Jon Flanagan got off unpunished:
Incredibly Barton went on to be on the losing side as the non league team made it to the FA Cup quarter-finals with a late goal to win 1-0.
Amazing!
