Just a week after utterly destroying Manchester City and scoring a hat-trick at the King Power Stadium, Jamie Vardy has been sent off in the first half of the game between Stoke and Leicester.

In the 28th minute Vardy was given his marching orders for a challenge on Stoke forward Mame Birame Diouf. The England striker clearly lunges in with two-feet but barely connects with the player.

With Stoke now leading the Premier League champions 2-0, the decision is sure to cause plenty of debate among football fans and pundits alike as there are plenty of arguments for why it should be a red because of a reckless-looking tackle where Vardy was off the ground, but at the same time is a yellow card not a suitable punishment as the Foxes striker doesn't actually appear to touch Diouf.

Watch the incident here:

At least Vardy has Christmas off now, along with fellow striker Sergio Aguero. Marcos Rojo just needs to up his game a bit more to make the big party.

What do you think? Is that the right call from Craig Pawson or has he been conned here?
