After a long wait, Premier League finally returns to Molineux today this season as Championship winners Wolves host Everton in the 5:30 kick-off and look to get off to a strong start after spending big in the summer transfer window.

With the help of super agent Jorge Mendes, Nuno Espirito Santo has spent around £70 million on 10 players to strengthen his squad and give Wolves a very good chance of a top half finish, never mind avoiding relegation back down to the second tier.

Willy Boly, Diogo Jota, Ruben Vinagre and Leo Bonatini were all on loan last term and have now been signed up to permanent deals for the season back in the big time.

In addition, they have drafted in Atletico Madrid left-back Jonny and Benfica striker Raul Jimenez on season-long loan deals, while taking advantage of Sporting CP's situation by snapping up Rui Patricio on a free transfer.

Fellow Portugal international Joao Moutinho has also made the move to Molineux for just £5 million, and Wolves concluded their business with the club-record capture of Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore for £18 million, and the loan signing of Belgium international Leander Dendoncker - with the deal will becoming permanent next summer.

There's a very impressive project going on at the Midlands club and their future ambitions are incredibly high. The Times say that the club's owners, Fosun International, are targeting a top ten finish this term but beyond that, they want a Premier League title in the bag in seven years.

Qualifying for the Champions League is the aim before then should that top half finish be achieved this season, but the ultimate objective is to lift that Premier League.

It's a massive goal but one that makes sense given the investment into the club. Who's to say it can't be done, too?

Manchester City won the league four years after the financial muscle of Sheikh Mansour arrived, and Leicester City's unprecedented title win two years back proved that anything is possible.

How will Wolves get on this season? Sound off in the comments.
