Xherdan Shaqiri Wasn't Too Fussed About His Goal Really

Fair enough Xherdan.

I didn't even score the goal and yet I haven't been able to shut up about Xherdan Shaqiri's equaliser against Poland on Saturday afternoon, as you'd have noticed if you've been reading today. Yet the player sounded very nonchalant after the game, fair play.

The Switzerland forward had a pretty quiet tournament as he teammates failed to get him involved as much as they needed to for a majority of their four games but before crashing out on penalties he did manage to score the goal of the tournament so far.

You'd have thought that scoring a scissor kick in the Euros would be pretty special but the Stoke City player clearly didn't think so and not because it didn't mean a win just because he apparently always scores like that. Asked about the "best goal" of his career the Swiss man simply said: "You don't know me very well, obviously. I always score nice goals!!"

The former Bayern Munich and Inter Milan player did at least admit that it was a good looking goal adding "This goal pushed the team more, so it was an important goal for me. It was beautiful. But in the end I am disappointed. As always I'm proud to score for my country and my team."

Ultimately his goal didn't matter as they drew 1-1 in normal time but lost 5-4 on penalties with new Arsenal signing Granit Xhaka the only man to miss the penalty.
