Robin van Persie is set to join the path often trodden by ex footballers by becoming BT Sports latest studio pundit for the Premier League 2019/20 season.
Normally when footballers retire there's only two options for them, enter the high intensity world of management where job security is at near zero or go sit on a comfy couch and talk about football with fellow ex footballers as a television pundit.
According to the Mirror former Manchester United and Arsenal striker Robin van Persie is set to do the latter, just months after retiring, and become BT Sports latest pundit.
The Dutch striker, who hasn't been shy about his opinions, is said to have agreed his contract with the Premier League and Champions League broadcaster and will be in the studio for English and European games.

Van Persie could well find himself doing a lot of work on Thursday night's considering his two former Premier League sides will both be playing in the Europa League next season.
BT have a reputation for their generally excellent TV pundits and their 'Premier League Tonight' show is often a big talking point on social media after their live games.
In the past year the broadcaster has lost Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard and Paul Scholes to management jobs at Rangers, Derby County and Oldham Athletic respectively.

Lampard has since moved to Chelsea and Scholes lasted just a month in League Two but is yet to return to our screens.
Former United players Rio Ferdinand, Owen Hargreaves, Michael Owen and Paul Ince remain pundits at BT Sport along with Robbie Savage, Steve McManaman, Martin Keown, Glenn Hoddle, Jermaine Jenas and Harry Redknapp.
The 35-year-old left England after three seasons with United in 2015 and joined Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbahce.

He stayed in Istanbul for two and a half years before returning to his boyhood club Feyenoord for the final two seasons of his career, scoring in the KNVB Cup final for the Dutch side.
Van Persie decided to hang up his boots at the end of last season and claimed he wouldn't take on any 'big commitments' saying, "Now I don't have to do anything, for the moment. I can be the coach of my own life, fill it how I want to. But I want to bring some structure and still be busy with sports - tennis, swimming, be active. But mainly just enjoy that little bit of freedom I have now, which I never had."
