Rasmus Hojlund breaks silence over Manchester United move

Rasmus Hojlund breaks silence over Manchester United move

Hojlund has been heavily linked with a move to United this summer as Erik ten Hag looks to boost his options upfront.

Manchester United transfer target Rasmus Hojland has broken his silence about his potential move away from Atalanta this summer.

United are in the midst of the biggest transfer saga of their history, though this time rather than being for a player it's the transfer of the club.

The Glazer family are yet to make a choice on their preferred bidder though recent reports have claimed that it will finally be Sheikh Jassim who is named sometime this week.

For fans of the club it won't come soon enough as Erik ten Hag sets about trying to close the gap to rivals Manchester City and finally winning the league for the first time since Sir Alex Ferguson retired.

Top of Ten Hag's wishlist this summer has to be a striker and Harry Kane has been heavily linked as the club's top choice to fill the role.

The problem is that Tottenham Hotspur still want a hefty fee for a 30-year-old whose contract only has a year left to run and also face competition from Real Madrid.

If Kane is out of the running then United will have to come up with an alternative and 20-year-old Dane Rasmus Hojlund is amongst those being touted.

The Serie A forward has changed his agent and asked if it had anything to do with a move he told Tipsbladet: "It's a trial period and that's all I can say."

On the links to United he added: "It is a huge club, so I must have done something right if it's rumoured they want me. We have to see what happens.

"From what we all hear, I imagine a lot could happen to quite a few strikers this summer, as many clubs are looking for a Number 9.

"Something will definitely happen there, and then we'll have to wait and see if I am included in it.

"I am very happy to be with Atalanta and we have qualified for Europe, so now we have to wait and see."

His lack of experience could mean that the Premier League side would have to sign two strikers if they sign him, as he's only made 32 Serie A appearances, scoring nine goals.

With their takeover reportedly going to the Qatari interest, there is now talk that they could try and sign Kylian Mbappe this summer.
