Mesut Ozil Slated For Going Missing In Another Big Game

Mesut Ozil Slated For Going Missing In Another Big Game

It's been a recurring theme...

A few things in life are certain: death, taxes and Mesut Ozil not turning up in a game that really matters.

The German man again went missing in a big game tonight in the 5-1 drubbing at the hands of Bayern in the Champions League last 16 first leg at the Allianz Arena.

Bayern went ahead in the 11th minute when Arjen Robben curled a beauty in the far corner and though there was hope for Arsenal when the equalised on the half hour mark through Alexis Sanchez, the hosts utterly dominated from then on.

Lewandowski headed home after half-time with a typical Lewandowski goal, before Thiago, quite possibly the best player on the pitch, bagged a brace. Substitute Thomas Muller completed the rout two minutes from time.

In all truth, Bayern would have had seven or eight had it not been for some inspired goalkeeping from David Ospina, put in between the sticks in place of Petr Cech.

And it was an all too familiar sight to see Ozil not put his stamp on another important game for Arsenal.

As per usual, the common opinion from fans on social media was that Ozil had gone missing once again.

One cannot deny the obvious technical quality Ozil posesses but it really is baffling that he fails to influence big games on such a regular basis.

After tonight's dismal showing from Arsenal, ArsenalFanTV will be well worth a watch.
