What Joe Hart Said To Lukas Podolski After His Goal Last Night

Brilliant.

Lukas Podolski, a man who has 130 caps and 49 goals for his country, bagged the winner against England last night in the most fitting way possible - a screamer with that hammer of a left foot.

Podolski became Germany's youngest ever play at the European Championships in 2004, and two years later was named the World Cup's Best Young Player ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi but his goal against England will rank among his greatest moments on the international stage.

The 31-year-old capped off an incredible 13-year international career with a truly memorable strike, as England goalkeeper Joe Hart watched the ball fly into the top right corner of the net.

Moments after the goal, Joe Hart was pictured congratulating Podolski, a great act of sportsmanship.

Now the German forward has revealed what Hart said to him during the exchange, and it makes the moment even more significant.

Podolski said: "He (Hart) said it was a fucking brilliant shot!"

We've got to agree with the Torino shot stopper on this occasion. To quote Andy Gray, 'what a hit son. What a hit!"

The strike was Podolski's 49th goal for his country over a 13-year period and he was quite rightly taken off for a standing ovation late in the game.

Podolski was almost reduced to tears, as he left the field accompanied by some rather bizarre music.

What a moment.

What a legend.
