Cristiano Ronaldo 'hurt' by pitch invader during Portugal win over Bosnia

Cristiano Ronaldo appeared to be "hurt" by a pitch invader during Portugal's win 5-0 hammering of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner scored twice in the Euro 2024 qualifier, where Bruno Fernandes, Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo were also on target.

Portugal, who qualified for the showpiece in Germany on Friday, scored all five of their goals before half-time.

Ronaldo put Roberto Martinez's side ahead with a penalty and then notched his 127th goal for Portugal.

But it wasn't all enjoyable for the 38-year-old, who was involved in an incident with a pitch invader.

A fan wearing an Al Nassr shirt and with his phone in hand, sprinted onto the Bilino Polje pitch as Ronaldo ran over to the touchline to take a throw-in.

He was chased by a slew of security staff but managed to get to the former Manchester United legend.

The supporter did not get his desired selfie but as the video showed, Ronaldo's foot appeared to be trod on and he was in some discomfort for a bit.

He grabbed his foot and began moving it around, with Bruno Fernandes showing concern.

Ronaldo seemed to be fine in the end but he was replaced by Pedro Neto in the 66th minute.

The ex Real Madrid superstar is still going strong even though he's not getting any younger and has now scored 40 goals for club and country in 2023.

And though he has not set himself a target, Ronaldo still feels in good condition to continue playing at a high level.

"Things have happened in my life, both on a personal and professional level, that make me think more in the short term nowadays," he told reporters, as per Goal.

"People say I’m going to play on until I’m 40 or 41 years old.

"I don’t set these targets. It’s a question of just enjoying the moment, which is a good moment.

"I feel good. My body is responding to how I’ve treated it over the years.

"I’m happy both at my club and in the Selecao.

"I’ve scored plenty of goals, I feel in good shape physically. It’s a question of enjoying the moment.”
