Jose Mourinho invites Roma youngster Francesco D'Alessio to conduct post-match interview after senior debut

Jose Mourinho invites Roma youngster Francesco D'Alessio to conduct post-match interview after senior debut

What a moment for the teenager.

Jose Mourinho was at his very best after Roma's 4-0 trouncing of Swiss side Servette in the Europa League on Thursday.

The Italian giants will be aiming for revenge after they lost last season's Europa League final to Sevilla in a controversial penalty shootout, which saw the Portuguese coach lose his cool on the touchline and in the car park afterwards.

The former Manchester United boss was later charged and found guilty of using insulting or abusive language towards Taylor, leading to a four-match ban.

However, over four months on, Mourinho cut a far more relaxed figure during his post-match interview following Roma's impressive European win.

And in an incredibly heartwarming moment, the 60-year-old invited 19-year-old Francesco D'Alessio to join him, following his debut for the club. You can the footage below.

D'Alessio came on for Edoardo Bove in the 76th minute, after goals from Romelu Lukaku, Lorenzo Pellegrini and a brace from Andrea Belotti had sealed the victory.

It was a dream come true for the teenager, who Mourinho explained had previously waited outside Roma's training ground in hope of being let in to watch the players train.

"First of all, let me tell you a story," Mourinho said after the game.

Gesturing to D'Alessio to come and join him in his interview, Mourinho put his arm round the midfielder, before recounting the tale.

"In the summer, before the kids went back to school, we were training and there were loads of kids outside of Trigoria screaming because they wanted to come inside to watch training.

Pointing to D'Alessio, Mourninho continued: "He was with us and he said: 'when I was 7, 8, 9, I was out there screaming because I wanted to come in. No coach opened the gates to let me in'.

"I was very happy for the kids because I opened the gates and let them in. Now he's [D'Alessio] is playing for Roma in the Europa League at the Olimpico in front of 50 or 60,000 people."

"I don't want to say anymore, he can talk!"
