Reports from Spain last night confirmed that Sevilla manager Eduardo "Toto" Berizzo had been diagnosed with prostate cancer. This evening a Spanish journalist reported that Barcelona have offered help to their rivals.

Sevilla brought smiles to a lot of faces, basically mostly those outside of Merseyside, last night as they made a superb comeback from 3-0 down at half time to grab a point in the Champions League against Jurgen Klopp's side.

However a lot of the talk after the match surrounded the manager, Eduardo Berizzo, who it was confirmed had been diagnosed with prostate cancer with a club statement saying, "The medical services of Sevilla FC report that the coach of the first team, Eduardo Berizzo , has been diagnosed with an adenocarcinoma of the prostate . The future examinations will allow to decide which are the steps to follow regarding their treatment.

"The Sevilla FC wants to show their full support for his coach right now and wishes him a speedy recovery."

There was talk that the players were told at half-time in the match, with suggestions that the news inspired the comeback, but that wasn't actually the case:

And the same Spanish journalist confirms that La Liga rivals Barcelona have offered Sevilla help and advice from their medical staff as they have experience following former manager Tito Vilanova's history with cancer:

Vilanova, a former player at the Camp Nou with the B team, was Pep Guardiola's assistant manager there with the pair winning the treble together in their first season together.

The Spaniard took over as manager from Guardiola when he left. He lasted just one season as manager, winning the league title, after relapsing from parotid gland cancer at the end of the season after having surgery in the previous December. He died less than a year later.

Everyone wishes Berizzo all the best and it's a great gesture from Barca.
