Chapecoense president Plínio David de Nes Filho has revealed that despite the outpouring of emotion and support only Barcelona have provided his club with an offer of financial aid.

The footballing world mourned when players and staff of Brazilian club Chapecoense tragically lost their lives in a plane crash in November as they travelled to a game.

77 people died in total including 19 of the club's players as they flew to Colombia for an intracontinental match.

Speaking to Cadena SER the Brazilian's president revealed that despite many offers of support only Barcelona handed over financial aid to help the club in their time of need:

"Barcelona was the first team that showed solidarity with us, and for now, it's the only team that's helped us financially sending us €250,000 [£216,000]."

And talking about the friendly that the Camp Nou side offered to play against Chapecoense, in order to help them raise more funds, Nes Filho added:

"In May we will have the definitive date, which will be between the 18th and 26th of May."

In Brazil clubs have helped by loaning the club players as they try to get themselves back on their feet and re-establish themselves as a football club following the tragedy.

An incredible gesture from Barca.

Chapecoense 'Angel Boy' Attended Real Madrid Training And Met His Idols

Young Johan Alexis Ramirez made headlines when he provided assistance to the rescue teams and helped them find the aircraft following the devastating LaMia Flight 2933 plane crash in late November in which 71 of the 77 passengers on the flight to Medellin, Colombia sadly lost their lives.

Only one of the four crewmembers, three Chapecoense players, and two other passengers survived.

However it could have been even worse if it wasn't for Johan Ramirez, who displayed incredible bravery and directed the rescue team to where the plane had crashed.

The youngster was rewarded for his help with a life-changing gift for his family as the run-down house they were living in was upgraded.

And it got even better for the heroic Johan, a staunch Real Madrid fan, as he was invited to the club's training facility and prior to training, had the opportunity to meet manager Zinedine Zidane as well as have his picture taken with a number of his heroes.

Johan also received a signed Real Madrid shirt from his fellow Colombian James Rodriguez, in what was a brilliant gesture.

Johan was also in attendance to see his beloved Los Blancos beat Espanyol 2-0 at the Bernabeu at the weekend.

It's fantastic to see Real well and truly spoil the 15-year old and give him an experience he will never forget. After his heroics in helping save six lives in the Chapecoense plane crash, it's incredibly heartwarming to see him up close and personal with the individuals who he looks up to so much.

Speaking to the Real Madrid website about the signed shirt he was given by James Rodriguez, he said:

"James represents all Colombians. It's very emotional and something very nice for me. This shirt is a very nice gift that I will have for a lifetime, it's a pleasure for me.

A wonderful story for the young man quite rightly dubbed 'Angel Boy'.
