Lukas Podolski, a man who has more international goals than the entire England squad tonight, has scored an absolute screamer for Germany to cap off an incredible international career spanning 13 years.

The German forward, who has 130 caps and 49 goals for his country, bagged the winner against England this evening as the Westfalenstadion stood and applauded the emotional 31-year-old.

Here's the absolute thunderbolt from two different angles:

England goalkeeper Joe Hart was clearly impressed with the strike, showing great sportsmanship after Podolski's 49th international goal:

Podolski became Germany's youngest ever play at the European Championships in 2004, and two years later was named the World Cup's Best Young Player ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Not only has Podolski achieved so much with the national side, but he is the third most capped and third highest scorer in German history.

Bayern Munich paid tribute to Podolski on Twitter shortly after his goal:

The perfect send off for a German legend.

Thank you, Lukas.
