For many players on FIFA 17, Lionel Messi is the dream player to have in your FIFA Ultimate Team.
The Argentine's basic rating is 93 rated and you'll have to stump up a massive 675,000 to land him - as per the latest price update for Xbox One courtesy of Fut Wiz.
Not every Ultimate Team player has such great luck in packs to be able to buy players like Messi, but fortunately, as pointed by Reddit user ParkCurtis and Dream Team, there is an alternative and he's also an Argentinian who sports the iconic number ten shirt.

Atalanta forward Alejandro Gómez started out as an 80 rated left-winger on this year's game but his form throughout the campaign, where he has scored 11 goals so far, has led to several upgrades and three separate in-forms.

The latest card is next level and gives Messi's standard card a run for its money, even beating him in a variety of areas.

He beats Messi in accumulative ratings in pace, physical and passing and the 29-year old also beats his compatriot in individual statistics such as agility, balance, penalties, long shots, volleys, crossing, curve, short passing, jumping and stamina - where he has a spectacular 99 rating.
They both have four star weak foot and four star skills.

The big selling point for Gomez is that his last estimated price is 180,000 which is considerably cheaper than what players would have to fork out to land Messi.
You can't beat a cheaper alternative to one of the top players in the game and with some statistics that are better than the Barcelona sensation Gomez certainly fits the bill if you looking for a low-budget Messi.
