Can't beat a stunning strike and a bit of commentary to go with it.

I firmly believe that commentary makes a goal great. Obviously the player on the pitch is responsible for the ball actually ending up in the onion bag, but there are so many instances where goals have become so much more memorable because of the commentary that goes with it, with acting like a soundtrack to a thriller of a film.

Andy Gray blurting out "You beauty!" when Steven Gerrard walloped in the equaliser for Liverpool against Olympiakos, Clive Tyldesley uttering the words "Joe Cole, why not?!" when the England man scored a thumping volley against Sweden and Martin Tyler losing his mind when Sergio Aguero netted a dramatic late winner to win the Premier League title for Manchester City against QPR in 2012 are all examples of iconic commentary.

Olivier Giroud deservedly hit the headlines this week when he scored an outrageous scorpion kick goal against Crystal Palace, a goal that Martin Tyler 'called' very well.

A video of someone's Grandad describing the scorpion kick also emerged online and it's absolutely golden.

But a fine chap from Reddit has put together a compilation of 21 different broadcasts and commentaries of Giroud's stunning strike, including a whole host of commentators from around the world going ape-shit at the sublime piece of skill Giroud produced to open the scoring at the Emirates.

In what is another excuse to watch the Giroud goal on repeat, watch the clip here:

I think it's fair to say that Spanish commentators are definitely the best.

However, I'm still waiting for the day good old Jim Ross dabbles into football commentary, uttering phrases like "BAH GAWD ALMIGHTY" and "Slobberknocker".

Which piece of commentary on Giroud's goal do you like best? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
