Barcelona Made Their First Transfer Bid Of The January Window Last Night

It would be a great signing.

Of all the positions on the pitch that Barcelona might need strengthening in most of us would not automatically pick the striking department. However the club have made their first move of the January window for a striker.

Yes it's the transfer window so on a daily basis there's going to be reports of some big moves and then inevitably nothing will actually happen, apart from in China of course where everything does.

Barca might have flown through their Champions League group, despite a loss to Manchester City, and are second in La Liga however they are up against PSG in the last 16 and are three points behind Real Madrid having played a game more.

So Luis Enrique clearly feels that the team needs some improvement. According to Gazzetta dello Sport the Catalan side have had a bid for Juventus forward Paulo Dybala turned down.

The 23 year old striker has a deal at the Juventus Stadium until 2020 but the club have offered him a new deal to ward off interest from the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid however the Argentine is yet to accept the new deal.

Talking to a reporter recently the striker suggested he would sign a new deal but said negotiations were still dragging, "I have not signed still nothing, and this thing I will not talk. The question is open, but actually the renewal will take place shortly, although has been dragging on since mid-November."

There's every chance that Barcelona made a move to bring Dybala to the Camp Nou now because their most likely rivals to sign him, Real, currently have a transfer ban that ends in the summer.

Dybala only signed for the Old Lady in the summer of 2015 and cost the Serie A champions around 32 million euros plus add ons and had already 22 league goals for the club.

He certainly would be an excellent signing for Barca but there's a long way to go for Luis Enrique to make it happen.
