Ever since Jose Mourinho had been linked with the managerial job at Manchester United, Juan Mata's future at the club has been in doubt. Mou sold the Spaniard while at Chelsea and reports had suggested that Mata would be one of the first players to be sold once he took charge.
However, according to reports from The Sun, Mourinho will allow Mata to stay at the club, but only on one condition. They claim that Mourinho has told the midfielder that he does have a future at the club, but will only play one game in three.
But if he decides not to stay and leave Manchester United, Espanyol will not be an option.

The club's sporting director Angel Gomez has ruled out a move for the midfielder, saying the club have not taken any steps to make the signing.
Speaking to Spanish paper Sport, Gomez said: "We want to close four or five additions... the goal is two defenders and two midfielders and in addition also a striker, although in this case would not be a priority.
"I am surprised [by the Mata rumours] I see it as unfeasible, because we have not taken any steps."
We're sure you wouldn't struggle finding a club, Juan.
