What does £44 million get you in the transfer market these days? Well according to reports it could get you Ivan Perisic but it wouldn't quite get you Kyle Walker. One club hope it also gets you Arturo Vidal.

Every summer is the same thing, certain clubs are desperate to sign new talent and certain clubs are desperate to keep hold of what they've got and then you've got a side like Bayern Munich who aren't really in either camp.

Sure Carlo Ancelotti's side have let Douglas Costa go to Juventus and have signed James Rodriguez from Real Madrid in an attempt to improve from last season but their players would have been good enough to challenge in Europe even without improvement.

As well as Rodriguez the German champions have also brought Corentin Tolisso and Sebastian Rudy into their midfield to make it one of the most stacked units in the footballing world.

So Inter will be hoping that super strength united could mean that Bayern can be tempted to sell Arturo Vidal for £44 million. According to Tutto Mercato the Chilean midfielder is a target for Luciano Spalletti with the new Inter boss desperate to sign him.

Although not exactly a direct swap it could be good news for Manchester United fans that Inter are targeting a player for exactly the same amount of money as the Italian team have been asking for Ivan Perisic.

Inter needed to make money to clear their FFP debts earlier this summer and managed to do so but any big spending would likely need them to sell first so a move for Vidal could speed that up.

Inter were behind rivals AC Milan last season and their San Siro partners have massively improved this summer after being taken over by a Chinese consortium so the Nerazzurri need to catch up.

Vidal would be the perfect start but will he leave the Allianz?
