Cristiano Ronaldo Really Wasn't Happy With Being Substituted Yesterday

Ronaldo was subbed off yesterday and he let Zidane know of his disappointment.

Cristiano Ronaldo is the kind of player who can make something out of nothing, no matter how anonymous he might be playing you'd always think he could score a goal. So taking him off takes some balls and as he showed yesterday he's never happy about it.

When you've got Ronaldo in your team it would be almost too easy to pick him every week. 75% fit? Pick him. Horrendously out of form? Still pick him. And the same would probably be said of taking him off as a sub.

So far this season Ronaldo has scored 19 goals in just 22 appearances, although that's probably a bit sluggish by his own ridiculous standards.

Yesterday Real played Athletico Bilbao as Los Blancos were continuing their assault on winning back the title from Barcelona. Ronaldo wasn't on the score sheet as Casemiro and Karim Benzema scored to win the game 2-1.

Ronaldo was subbed off with 11 minutes to go, making way for Isco, and he clearly wasn't happy. Making his way to the bench he swore at Zinedine Zidane asking, "Why me? F*** off!"

After the match Zidane pretty much shrugged off the substitution saying, "We tried to have more balance with Isco in the midfield and we changed to 4-4-2. Cristiano can be replaced just like anyone else. He finished the match very happy because of the victory we achieved."

It is potentially a bit surprising to hear the manager basically saying that Ronaldo is as replaceable as anyone else in the squad, rather a change from his previous status, but Isco's fresher legs were probably seen as better to see the game out.

Real's win put them five points clear of Barcelona with the Catalan side playing Valencia tonight but Real would have a game in hand again after that match.

Most players wouldn't get away with swearing at the manager so brazenly but could you really drop the team's all time top scorer?
