Everton are set to break their record transfer fee for a second summer in a row by spending up to £50 million on Watford forward Richarlison.
As transfer prices rocketed last summer, thanks in the main to Neymar's move to PSG from Barcelona, everyone seemed to have a different moment when they were done with the prices being paid. Everton though were the straw that broke so many camels' backs.
When it was announced that Swansea wanted £45 million for Gylfi Sigurdsson everyone on social media lost their minds but not as much as when the Toffees decided to pay it for the midfielder.
So much has changed at Goodison Park since then and now their record transfer fee looks certain to change as well with new boss Marco Silva set to return to his former club to smash it.

According to the Daily Mail, Everton are closing in on agreeing a move for Watford forward Richarlison with the deal said to be worth up to £50 million for the Brazilian.
The deal represents quite the incredible 12 months for the 21 year old. He only joined the Hornets last summer after impressing a lot of people at the under 20 World Cup for Brazil.
He moved to the Premier League for just £11.5 million from Fluminense and at the start of the season it looked like the best business of the summer.

Richarlison scored five goals in his opening 12 games of the season as Silva made an impressive start to life at Vicarage Road having joined from Hull that summer.
Things quickly fell apart for Silva, Watford and Richarlison and the forward hasn't scored since November whilst the manager was sacked after an approach by Everton for his services, before eventually moving to Merseyside when Sam Allardyce left at the end of last season.
Negotiations between Everton and Watford may well have been frosty. The Hertfordshire club blamed Everton for their form disappearing and the sacking of Silva, having turned down a £20 million for their then manager.

It now looks like Richarlison and Silva will be reunited and Watford will make a huge profit on a player they only signed last summer, good business all round really.
Is £50 million too much?
