Liverpool are set to open business once the transfer window reopens in January as it appears the club are set to offload Mamadou Sakho. Damn shame for the Liverpool faithfuls.

The Frenchman was signed for £18 million from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2013 and instantly became a cult-hero through his antics. From his "I'm a scouser" and "it is a win for the Liverpool country" quotes to his charity work.

Despite being a popular player among the loyal Red's, Jurgen Klopp confirmed his stance on the defender saying; "Absolutely no thought to sell any player from the first-team squad."

Needless to say, that didn't include Sakho; "Nothing has changed. Now you know, I said it: he (Sakho) is not in these plans for the first team."

But it doesn't come as a huge surprise following being sent home from their US pre-season tour for disciplinary reasons as well as being frozen out of the squad ever since not to mention refusing to go out on loan.

That stance prompted Klopp to send him to the under-23's and he hasn't played for the senior side since April. Fellow Premier League sides West Brom and Stoke City have expressed an interest and could be about to table a bid in a few weeks.
