Struggling to get rid of him.

It's not Fellaini, don't panic United fans. However Jose Mourinho is worried that with no bids for one of the players he'd like to get rid of in January the player will stick around like a bad smell until the summer.

Mourinho is slowly but surely working out who is best team is, although most fans probably assumed that included Henrikh Mkhitaryan and you fear Jose will drop him again at the weekend just for jokes, and that means he knows who he wants rid of.

It's expected that Morgan Schneiderlin and Memphis Depay could move on, the latter potentially on loan. However the future of Matteo Darmian isn't so certain.

The Italian full back has fallen behind Antonio Valencia in the pecking order and is available in January but an Old Trafford 'insider' told The Sun that the club are wary of a lack of offers:

"Nobody knows what is going on with him. There have been no offers as of yet, just interest so far. The club will let him leave as long as the right offer comes in, but they want their money back that was paid originally.

"There is nothing brewing on the horizon. There is a fear they could be stuck with him until at least next summer."

It's expected that the former Torino player will be returning to Italy soon with Inter Milan thought to be the front runners for his signature. Napoli have also been linked with the full back as has a return to Turin with Juventus.

The 27 year old made an impressive start to life in the Premier League with United under Louis van Gaal but soon faded away and has struggled to get into Mourinho's plans.

Mourinho is likely to get rid of quite a bit of deadwood from his squad in the next two transfer windows as he makes the team his own, fans will be hoping a certain Belgian is first out the door.
