Chelsea and Real Madrid have reportedly reached an agreement over an £88.5 million fee for Eden Hazard's transfer.

Eden Hazard's transfer saga with Real Madrid has gone far beyond the 'will they, won't they' of last summer to the 'when the hell will they' point of this summer.

It was expected that the Belgian might move to the Bernabeu last year but no offer came from Los Blancos and instead the Chelsea forward stayed in west London.

The return of Zinedine Zidane to the Real hotseat put the idea back on the table and after Chelsea beat Arsenal in the Europa League final last week the former Lille midfielder all but confirmed it.

Speaking to BT after full time Hazard said, "We will decide in a few days and the only target in my mind was to win this final.

"I have made my decision already and now I'm waiting on both clubs.I think it is a goodbye, but in football you never know."

However it now looks like we do know with the Guardian reporting that the two clubs have to an agreement over an £88.5 million fee, including add ons.

Real were always expected to spend big this summer after a poor season by all accounts.

They sold Cristiano Ronaldo last summer and never replaced him, only signing Mariano in his place, could only finish third in La Liga and lost in the last 16 of the Champions League to Ajax.

President Florentino Perez went through two managers in the season, after ruining Spain's chances in the World Cup last summer by getting Julen Lopetegui sacked on the eve of the final, and then went back to Zidane.

Zizou would have likely had guarantees about new signings and they've already confirmed the transfers of Luka Jovic and Eder Militao, whilst both Paul Pogba and Christian Eriksen have been linked.

Hazard had his best goal scoring season for Chelsea in 2018/19 bagging 21 times in all competitions, including 16 in the league, as the Blues finished the season third in the Premier League and won the Europa League.

The 28 year old's history with the club has come full circle as he joined from Lille in 2012 after the Blues had won the Champions League.

Will Hazard be a success for Real?
