Real Madrid Target Premier League Star To Bolster Side

Real Madrid Target Premier League Star To Bolster Side

They're currently trailing Barcelona but could make a huge signing to add to their attacking options.

When Real Madrid started this season by battering Barcelona in the Spanish Supercopa and Manchester United in the UEFA Super Cup you'd have expected them to run away with more titles this season but now they're turning to a big money signing to turn things around.

Last season Real were unstoppable as they won La Liga for the first time in five years and then became the first side to defend the Champions League as they battered Juventus in the final.

Zinedine Zidane's side were expected to continue that form into the new season, especially with those two cup wins before La Liga kicked off. Added with the addition of Spanish youngsters to their side and, of course, Barca losing Neymar and there was surely no other winner of the Spanish title.

But things haven't turned out and heading into Saturday night's first Madrid derby at the Wanda Metropolitano Los Blancos found themselves 11 points behind first place Barca, with a game in hand.

Zidane and Florentino Perez aren't sitting on their hands though and Don Balon, via Goal, report that the Bernabeu side are readying a £60 million bid for Manchester City's Sergio Aguero.

The move seems to centre around the possibility of Pep Guardiola's side signing Alexis Sanchez. City tried hard in the summer to make it happen and could be back in January for a cut price deal or wait until the summer for a free transfer.

That could also delay Real moving for Aguero until the summer but with Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly ready to walk out of the Spanish capital in the summer he could be the perfect replacement.

Of course Aguero has played in Madrid for Atletico before and has long been linked with a return to the city with Real. He has not always been first choice at the Etihad Stadium since Gabriel Jesus joined and a move for Sanchez could tempt him to leave.

Could Aguero leave Manchester for Madrid?
