Didn't fancy it.

Mamadou Sakho could be condemning himself to a season on Liverpool's bench or possibly even in the reserves. The centre back has been told by Jurgen Klopp that he's not wanted this season but he's turned down to another Premier League club.

Sakho was a first teamer for Liverpool last season however Klopp has strengthened this season with Joel Matip and Ragnar Klavan joining the Reds. After being sent home from the club's pre season tour because his fitness wasn't up to scratch the French defender was told he could leave Anfield on loan before Wednesday's window shuts.

He hasn't made a match day squad as yet this season so you'd have thought that might increase the player's drive to take temporary leave from Anfield but it seems that's not the case with The Telegraph reporting that he's turned down a loan move to Stoke City:

Mark Hughes side are yet to keep a clean sheet so far this season, not exactly a statistic that would be usually considered to be the Potters way of playing, and Hughes obviously saw the former £12 million signing as the perfect way to bolster his defence.

Sakho only has a couple of days left to get himself a move he does fancy because otherwise he's going to be sat around twiddling his thumbs for a while.
