The next time you're at the football over the autumn or winter months, spare a thought for Manchester City supporters, because although they may have one of the slickest and most expensively assembled squads in history, they also have a stadium that absolutely reeks of garlic.

And we're not kidding, either.

According to the Daily Mail, supporters at Wednesday's Champions League game against Borussia Mönchengladbach at the Etihad were left slightly perplexed by the pungent smell of garlic that wafted around the ground throughout the evening.

And it turns out that the club's groundsmen has decided to try out the revolutionary technique of spraying garlic across the grass in order to get rid of any parasites that could eat away at the roots or cause damage to the top. Word to the wise, though: If you're heading there for a game, be sure to bring a nose peg with you.
