Conor McGregor sent Sean O'Malley a DM after his UFC title win, they're working on something massive

Conor McGregor sent Sean O'Malley a DM after his UFC title win, they're working on something massive

Sean O'Malley revealed his exchange with Conor McGregor following his UFC 292 triumph.

Newly-minted UFC champion Sean O'Malley has revealed the direct message he received from Conor McGregor following his big win over Aljamain Sterling.

O'Malley stopped Sterling in the second round of their championship bout at UFC 292 in Boston last weekend.

He landed a monstrous right hand before launching a ground assault as he claimed the UFC bantamweight title.

Legendary rapper Snoop Dogg congratulated 'Sugar' after his stunning victory, not to mention UFC icon McGregor, who slid in the fighter's DMs on social media.

The 28-year-old American even proposed a super card in December, revealing his exchange with the 'Notorious'.

Speaking to Pat McAfee, he said: "Conor messaged me on Instagram for the first time. He said, 'baby we did it' and I said, 'we sure f**king did'."

O'Malley added: "I said '[are] you main eventing in December? I'm [the] co-main event?' ... All he replied was 'shot caller', so I don't know what that means.

"I'm hoping that's a yes in f**king Irish."

A December return for McGregor had been mooted until his USADA situation seemingly nixed that idea.

He was set to return to the famed Octagon before the end of the year to face Michael Chandler, having gone head-to-head with him on The Ultimate Fighter.

The Irishman hasn't fought since his crushing defeat to Dustin Poirier back in July 2021.

O'Malley, who carried a rib injury into his bout against Sterling, could make another appearance in 2023 as a rematch against Marlon Vera has been discussed.

'Chito' inflicted O'Malley with the first defeat of his professional career as he scored a TKO victory at UFC 252 back in 2020.

Since losing to Vera, the 135lbs star has won five fights, culminating in his title triumph over Sterling.
