Luke Littler may have predicted stunning nine-darter five days before the Bahrain Masters

Luke Littler may have predicted stunning nine-darter five days before the Bahrain Masters

Luke Littler has risen to superstardom in the world of darts

Luke Littler may have predicted his stunning nine-dart leg at the Bahrain Masters just five days before the event.

16-year-old Littler announced himself to the world after a dream run to the final of the PDC World Darts Championship last month.

The teenage sensation beat the likes of Rob Cross and Raymond van Barneveld on the way to the final at the Alexandra Palace, which he lost to world number one Luke Humphries.

During this week’s Bahrain Masters, Littler was the talk of the town once again.

After breezing past Hong Kong’s Man Lok Leung, Littler dispatched Nathan Aspinall and Gerwyn Price to set up a clash against Michael van Gerwen.

The teenager from Warrington ended up winning 8-5 to clinch his first senior title.

During his match against Aspinall, Littler stunningly opened the match with a perfect nine-darter.

Now, it has been reported that Littler may have even predicted the nine-darter during his visit to Old Trafford, where he watched his favourite football team, Manchester United draw 2-2 against Tottenham Hotspur.

As per The Sun, Littler was asked whether he would rather score a hattrick or hit a nine-darter.

Littler replied: “Nine-darter,” and just five days later, he achieved that stunning feat.

He was also asked which of his fellow darts players would be a good addition to a football team, Littler said: “Dirk van Duijvenbode, very tall put him at the back.”

Reacting to his perfect opening leg, Littler said: “I'm just glad to win, and I think I played really well there. It's just good to get one on TV, and the first [nine-darter] of the year goes to me.

“I just hope the list continues, and hopefully I hit a few more. I just take it game-by-game [looking at the rest of the tournament]. If I do win, I win. If I lose my next game, it is what it is.”

He added: “But I don't think about losing, I just think about winning.”
