Scotland's only representative.

Wolfgang might be the only Flower of Scotland to take part in WWE's UK Championship this weekend, live on the WWE Network, but the aggressive ICW World Heavyweight Champion has the entire firepower of proud Edward's army in his artillery.

The Glaswegian enters this weekend's tournament as the only man from Scotland. But being on his own won't affect the lone wolf at all.

If anything the chance to represent Scotland on his own is making him hungrier for success and he says he's determined to make sure the title heads north of the border:

"I can't put it into words how proud I'm going to be as the only Scottish guys to be representing at a UK tournament. I've got to make sure the first UK Champion is Scottish.

"The wrestling scene that I've been part of the last 15 years is at a point now where it's bigger than it's ever been before, we're selling out venues of over 6000 and to be representing the nation is something I don't take likely, I'll put everything into making Scotland proud when we go onto the WWE Network."

And Wolfgang has even noticed a buzz around Scotland for his appearance since being announced as one of the competitors, "Everyone is talking about it wherever you go. It's the first time I've had "Joe Public" come up to me and ask me what's going on.

"Normally when I talk about my wrestling they're not that interested but now that the biggest company in the world are shining a light on us everyone's talking about it. Wrestling in Glasgow/Scotland has always had a good reputation but you've had to have been a wrestling fan to really know it.

"Now regular punters and guys I meet every day in the pub know about it. Wrestling is buzzing and the whole country is buzzing."

Fellow ICW alumni, now at WWE, Noam Dar recently talked about playing FIFA with his mates when he got the phone call to ask him along to the Cruiserweight Classic but things for Wolfgang were a little different:

"I'd actually been waiting on a phone call. William Regal had contacted me for my phone number which was a complete surprise in itself, the guy I'd been watching for my whole life.

"So I had a feeling it was to offer me some kind of work. But I'd literally just stepped into the bath when the phone started going, I had to pop out of the bath and speak to Regal.

"King Regal on the phone to say we're going to be holding a tournament to crown the first ever WWE UK champion.

"It's fantastic to think we've got the British scene to the point now where the biggest wrestling company in the world are interested and not just that but they've created a UK championship for us to fight over."

The Glaswegian has some very recent big match experience. Just two weeks after WWE held an episode of Raw at the SSE Hydro in his hometown Wolfgang faced fellow UK Championship competitor Trent Seven inside a steel cage at ICW's Fear and Loathing IX.

And the pair could meet in the second round, even though Wolfgang was hoping their match up would be the final: "In an ideal situation, it's Wolfgang vs Trent Seven in the final, that is something he and I have been working towards in the last two years.

"To go and stand against the calibre of someone like Trent Seven, not to disregard the other 14 guys. He's one of my favourite opponents and he brings out the best in me and I like to think I bring out a little bit of good in him.

"I want to be in the final, I don't really care who against, but as long as I get there. I would love it, it would be nice to see Trent in the other corner."

The Scot revealed that his girlfriend's favourite wrestler is Dean Ambrose so he'd love to come up against the Lunatic Fringe but his other dream matches in a WWE ring would be against Noam Dar and Big Damo so they can show off what they've been doing for years on a bigger stage.

He also said that he owes Jake the Snake Roberts a debt of gratitude after the WWE Hall of Famer turned up to give a seminar at the British Championship Wrestling school where he trained with the likes of Drew Galloway, Kid Kite, Red Lightning and Lionheart.

Finally Wolfgang had a message for the fans and his fellow tournament competitors, "If you've never seen me before you should be ready for some hardcore brawling. At the end of the day I know how to get things done in the ring.

"I can be flashy. I can do a swanton or a moonsault if needs be but this tournament isn't going to be people trying to show off it's going to be for guys who want to win that title and I'm going to make sure I do what it takes to take that title back to Scotland. Expect to see power, agility, a bit more importantly expect to see aggression!

"I hope everyone is going to be watching live. Going to watch Wolfgang against 15 other guys if needs be but no matter who comes up against me, be it Tyler Bate, Trent Seven or anyone else they've got to stop me bringing that UK title back to Scotland.

"I just hope they've prepared as much for this as I have and if not they don't deserve to be in that ring and they certainly don't deserve to be champion."

Big words but you'd be mad to bet against him!
