The WWE have broken the news that four time World Champion Alberto Del Rio has been suspended by the company for a violation of their wellness policy.

The suspension will last for 30 days, effective tomorrow but may very well signal the end of Del Rio's second run with the company, having re-sesigned, last October.

Del Rio, real name José Alberto Rodríguez, was once one of the top stars in the WWE before his release in 2014 for 'unprofessional conduct' which apparently related to him striking a WWE employee who made a derogatory remark about his heritage. Del Rio returned to AAA in Mexico and also appeared on the first season of Lucha Underground, before returning to the WWE, last year.

Del Rio's second run must be considered an underwhelming disappointed, despite a couple of brief United States Title runs, thus far and, if reports are to be believed, he has a get out clause in his current deal which can be activated next month. Given his poor run and this suspension, it may well be that his match with John Cena on SmackDown last night is his last in a WWE ring.
