WWE wrestler Chris Jericho has produced an amazing gesture by donating the required amount to pay for former WWF wrestler Rex King's funeral.

King, real name Timothy Smith, won several titles around the world and also had stints in both WWF and WCW.

The 55-year old sadly passed away due to kidney failure on 9 January in Greenup, Kentucky and his family needed money to subsidise the costs of his funeral.

One would think WWE would have no qualms shelling out for a former member of their roster but the fact that he was one of many wrestlers to join a lawsuit against WWE over concealing injuries to the brain incurred by wrestlers during matches meant there was little chance of that happening.

And so his mother Shirley Fellows set up a GoFundMe page where people could make donations and raise funds for the funeral.

The initial target set was $2,500 but Jericho, now United States Champion in WWE, donated the required amount in a fantastic and generous gesture.

Using his real name Chris Irvine, Y2J made the donation and spoke of how Rex had helped him out.

The campaign is still ongoing and the required amount has since been increased to $15,000. At the time of writing, the raised amount is on $3,160. - with 13 people donating in a two-day period.

Jericho has also donated to to former WWF wrestler Perry Saturn's fund - this time making a $5,000 donation for his close friend.

And that's the true 'Gift of Jericho'...
