Conor McGregor showing up in WWE at some point down the line has been talked about a number of times.

McGregor worked himself into a shoot when he called WWE superstars "pussies" and the WWE roster then began to throw shade at the Notorious one.

There have been all sorts of noises indicating that McGregor will end up in WWE in the future, including executive vice president of talent, live events and creative Triple H talking about the idea of the Irishman making the switch.

Paul Heyman has now weighed in and showered praise on the 28-year old.

Speaking about the prospect of seeing McGregor in the squared circle on the "Bring It to the Table" programme on the WWE Network, he said:

"It'd be great if he was. He's a main line box office attraction. He's a headline news grabber. I think it'd be great for WWE and I think it would be even better for Conor McGregor.

"There are people mentioning him by name here using our platforms to promote him. He's not mentioning anybody by name here. Why? Because he has a platform all of his own.

"That makes him a huge box office attraction, being promoted by other box office attractions that spend their equity talking about him.

"Kudos to him. He outsmarted everybody, except for me, except for Brock Lesnar."

Heyman, the brains behind the revolutionary ECW promotion back in the day, is an incredible talker on the microphone. You put him with McGregor, the best trash-talker in the world and you have an unparalleled combination.

Brock Lesnar's advocate said linking up with Heyman would be "the smartest play" for McGregor but said Mystic Mac must come to him for that to happen.

"The smartest play for Conor McGregor is to become the very first Paul McHeyman guy. (WWE) that's where I am right now. I'm not going to him, he's going to have to come to me."
