Wayne Rooney equalled Bobby Charlton's Manchester United record against Reading in the 4-0 FA Cup - with Rooney's opening goal taking him to 249 goals for United.

He has reached that incredible figure in 543 games and is now just one goal away from being recognised as the all-time top scorer of Manchester United at just 31-years old.

Time will tell when Rooney will actually break the record but you'd definitely back him to do it in the coming weeks, even if his form this season hasn't exactly been scintillating like previous campaigns.

But Rooney breaking the record is so nailed on that he already has some boots ready to wear when he does eventually make history and become the top-scorer in United's history.

In the usual Nike Hypervenom Phinish boots design that Rooney sports every week, the red, white and black colours of United are used, as well as the initials 'WR10'.

These limited editions boots also has the text '250' on the tongue of the boots, accompanied by a gold crown symbol.

Inside the boot, there is a silhouette of Rooney celebrating scoring arguably his greatest and most memorable goal against Manchester City in the 2010/11 season at Old Trafford - with exposure for the former Everton striker's 'Wayne Rooney Foundation' as well.

Here are a series of images for the boots, courtesy of Footy Headlines:

Rooney is set to debut these special boots when he does break the record and they are also set to be available to fans, although limited edition, once the United No.10 does reach this historic landmark?

What do you think about the boots? When will Rooney break the record?
