Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz's infamous bottle (Monster Energy cans) throwing incident was as chaotic as it was thrilling, but their actions resulted in a hefty fine from the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

The panel slapped McGregor with a whopping $150,000 fine along with 50 hours of community service in a controversial ruling. Which was then cut in half, with the other portion representing his public service.

But the commission issued a re-hearing after the sanction was protested by Team McGregor. And the appeal has proved to be beneficial following the new results.

Last night, the NSAC imposed a $25,000 fine as well as 25 hours of community service. Pocket change for the UFC lightweight king and a significant reduce from the initial call.

It officially ends the saga which stems from their UFC 202 rematch which involved a chaotic pre-fight press conference. Prior to their fight, the pair of fighters, along with UFC president Dana White and the co-main eventers, took part in the customary media obligations.

Though the presser was cut short following McGregor and Diaz pelting bottles and cans at each other across Copperfield Theater in Las Vegas, Nevada.

After McGregor arrived late, Diaz subsequently walked out which sparked wild scenes. Check out the classic pre-fight madness below:

Meanwhile, the incessant rumours regarding the mega-fight between Mayweather and McGregor remain intense with a June date on hold not to mention White seemingly confident of the bout coming to reality.

Though a September date has also been muted.

(McGregor wants it. Mayweather wants it. Lets make it happen, lads!)

The Crumlin-fighter is currently on a short break as he prepares for fatherhood with his first child on the way. 'Notorious' was last in action back at UFC 205 where he made UFC history becoming the very first fighter to hold two belts, simultaneously.

While Mayweather 'retired' in 2015 after beating Andre Berto which extended his perfect record to 49-0, one fight away from breaking Rocky Marciano's long standing record.

Will the fight happen? Watch this space.
