John Cena Utters Classy Message As He's Being Pinned By WWE Champion Bray Wyatt

Great gesture from the 16-time world champion.

John Cena is one of the greatest wrestlers in history. I'd go as far as saying that he's the greatest of all time and wrote about why Cena is the top dog, but that's open for debate.

Cena has been involved in so many memorable matches and every time he goes through the curtain to entertain fans, there's always electricity.

He's also granted over 500 wishes for Make-A-Wish for seriously ill children and regularly shares moments with his fans.

Back in July, Cena brought a young fan who has successfully battled cancer into the ring after Raw went off the air.

After carrying a sign at Raw which read "I am a pediatric cancer survivor" the 39-year-old soon spotted it, prompting him to bring little Isaac into the ring.

He's been on top for around 12 years and always brings out the best in his opponents, challenging them to try and get on his level.

One man who has certainly done that in the past week is Bray Wyatt. The Eater Of Worlds ensured Cena's record-tying 16th world championship reign ended prematurely when he pinned big match John clean as a whistle in the Sunday's Elimination Chamber match, before putting AJ Styles away to win his first ever singles championship in WWE - a moment and an accomplishment that has been long overdue.

A triple-threat match between Cena, Styles and Wyatt for the coveted championship was scheduled for this week's Smackdown and ended with Wyatt, a cult leader who looks and carries himself like a character in a Rob Zombie film, pinning Cena clean for the second time in a 48-hour period.

As the face of WWE, it's not often that Cena loses clean and so it's a big compliment to those who do get the better of him - Daniel Bryan, Kevin Owens and AJ Styles can vouch for that.

Wyatt, who feuded with Cena back in 2014 and had a Wrestlemania match as part of the program, has looked like an absolute star in the last week and Cena was an integral part of that.

When being pinned in the main event of Smackdown, Cena can be heard uttering words to the effect of "You're a proper champion now" to his victor - a very classy message that Cena did not need to do at all.

Watch the match here and you will see the brief conversation around 2:13 in:

There have also been reports from the pro wrestling world that Cena pushed to put Wyatt "over" - that meaning he lobbied to allow Wyatt to defeat him clean and this elevate him to new heights.

It;s fantastic to see really give Wyatt that rub at this stage of his career as he gears up for a huge Wrestlemania and it's little nuances like that which has helped Cena become the megastar that he is today.

Class act, John.
