Football League: ODDSbible's League One Betting Preview

We've taken a look at the best bets in each of the weekend's League One games.

Swindon Town v Millwall

Swindon are running out of time if they want to save themselves from relegation and face a tough task on Saturday against a Millwall side with promotion ambitions.

The Robins do score goals however and although results haven't always gone their way, they've netted eight times in five League One outings.

Millwall are unbeaten in five away from The Den, scoring five in their last three in the league.

Recommended bet: Both teams to score - 8/11

Port Vale v MK Dons

Vale Park is usually good for value for goals and we think this game could be a good bet to follow that trend when MK Dons visit.

Five of Port Vale's last six at home in the league have gone over 2.5 goals at least, amassing a whopping 20 goals. The Dons have seen a fair few goals in their games of late too, with nine in their last three.

Recommended bet: Over 2.5 match goals - 21/20

AFC Wimbledon v Southend United

From one Dons' side expected to see a few goals tomorrow, to another that we expect to see much fewer.

None of AFC Wimbledon's last five at Kingsmeadow have gone over 2.5 match goals whilst just two of Southend's last six away from home in the league have done the same.

Recommended bets: Under 2.5 match goals - 4/7

Bury v Fleetwood Town

Third-placed Fleetwood travel to Greater Manchester with some decent away form behind them.

Although just 17th in the league, Bury are themselves, a tough proposition at home with just one defeat in six.

Fleetwood have won four of their last five away from Highbury Stadium, winning three on the bounce. Bury should provide a stern test for the Cod Army but we back Uwe Rosler's side to edge this.

Recommended bet: Fleetwood Town WIN - 7/5

Chesterfield v Rochdale

When Rochdale play you can usually bet your house on the fact that there'll be plenty of goals. The Dale's last five League One games have all seen both sides net and have totalled an eye-watering 24 goals.

Chesterfield are no strangers to goal-heavy games either, with their last three involving both teams scoring and they've seen a total of 13 in five involving them.

Recommended bet: Both teams to score - 4/6

Coventry City v Bristol Rovers

Unfortunately for Mark Robins' Coventry side, they look all but relegated at this point in the season, currently dead last in League One and a considerable 14 points away from safety.

A visit from a Bristol Rovers side, still in with a shot at promotion, won't make things any easier.

The Sky Blues have lost four of their last five at home, a 2-1 victory over fellow relegation candidates Port Vale a brief respite. Rovers have won three of their last four in League One.

Recommended bet: Bristol Rovers WIN - EVS

Gillingham v Peterborough United

This is another League One match-up where both teams to score looks like great value. The Gills have seen goals at both ends in four of their last five, amounting to 21 goals in total.

Likewise, Peterborough's last three games in the league have followed that same pattern.

Recommended bet: Both teams to score - 8/15

Northampton Town v Oxford United

Only six points separate these two sides but even so, Northampton aren't yet mathematically safe from relegation and Oxford United still have a realistic chance of making the play-offs.

One similarity these two teams do share is that they both tend to be involved in high scoring games with four of Northampton's last five going over 2.5 match goals and five of Oxford's last five doing the same.

Recommended bet: Over 2.5 match goals - 7/10

Oldham Athletic v Sheffield United

Top of the league Sheffield United travel to a recovering Oldham Athletic on Saturday, in what could be a potential banana skin for The Blades.

The Latics are unbeaten in five at Boundary Park, winning three. Sheffield United have a similar record away from home recently, winning three away from Bramall Lane and drawing two.

The last three trips away from Sheffield have seen a bounty of goals with Chris Wilder's side winning 4-2, 3-2 and drawing 3-3.

Recommended bet: Both teams to score - 23/20

Shrewsbury Town v Bolton Wanderers

Second-placed Bolton travel to Shropshire on Saturday looking to strengthen their grip within the League One automatic positions against a Shrewsbury side that have looked good at home recently.

The Salopians have won four of their last five at home, drawing the other and keeping them out of the drop zone. Just.

It's worth considering that all four of those victories came against teams in the bottom half of the table.

Bolton have won three on the bounce away from home, scoring four in each, and we think they might just have a bit too much quality for their struggling opponents.

Recommended bet: Bolton Wanderers WIN - 11/10

Scunthorpe United v Bradford City (Sunday, 12.30pm)

It's fourth v fifth in perhaps the biggest game in League One this weekend when Scunthorpe host Bradford.

Scunthorpe have come off the boil a little recently, losing four of their last five and another defeat this weekend would be a massive blow for the Lincolnshire outfit.

Bradford are going considerably better on current form, going unbeaten in their last five and winning three.

Games between these two sides have a habit of being low scoring affairs, with their last seven going under 2.5 match goals. Given how much is at stake in this encounter, we think it's a decent bet that it'll be cagey and low on goals as well.

Recommended bet: Under 2.5 match goals - 4/6
